today on the carriage kitchen we are going to make a standard British chicken curry and dead simple chicken curry and then what we're going to do is we're going to keep that in the slow cooker so we're going to keep it at most temperature for a few hours of your we'll eat it later on it and we've got a few ingredients over here and so we'll show you how to get these together.
I hope you get this curry on so first thing we're going to need and we'll need some chicken I'm just going to use some chicken breast here okay we're going to use your nice large chicken breast here we'll get that onto a chopping board and we're going to cut this up into small pieces reaso minute device add little bit it's catching double spend today and I'll cut him down again yeah okay and then with those strips we will cut that into smallish sort of axises you know do one at a time not too big not too small just sort of life size okay and get that all chopped up then bits either one and you know like you might find some more bits in it we can get rid of the problems
So, we'll cut that all about and then the last one here we go core position pop this now into a container get all that Internet okay and obviously because this is raw meat what we're gonna need to do now is really to wash up get our boards and everything put away and then we'll do some veg there we are so infants will be washed up Mouse all nice and clean and sort of whack this lid onto our chicken and then we'll chop this only properly awesome our chicken set that aside for later okay so our onions probably going to do just chop this up now in the usual way on Brown linear I mean you can use to brown onions if you like and depends number two make me 19 in for co2 today so I'm going to use one onion so we're going to get that chopped up and does it doesn't have to be fine just rough and I've rough diced large saw all the precises chop it up and what we'll do then we'll pop this in here into our container I mean what I can do and quite often because most things I cook with and involve onion and garlic is I'll practically and just the night before and you know I could chop these up last night got him in a container and kept in the fridge and to be honest it'll keep frog or the keep adage you can use these two or three days later so give the top typically a few if you wanted to what we could do is chop them up put them in the fridge
so, we are going to add to that now I'm going to add a little bit of olive oil couple of splashes of olive oil just to moisten that nicely I like you to put some garlic in it and I'm going to use yep lady garlic sorry lady garlic maybe up and you can use normal garlic if you like I'm right Justin first use this stuff it's all good for you so you want one good teaspoon now lady garlic mix me with a million's let me go for that get that all mixed up beautiful is not to be set aside your by the chicken without onions our chickens already what we're going to do that Clemmy pace and which is going to be the flavor it's going to be the whole body of the curry and we're going to use some hot coming power there so to rig a chicken stock cube some veg stock or nation bullion and and I've got some crushed ginger here you can use fresh ginger if you like I'm going to pop some crushed ginger in mine so I'll show you what mix show you how to mix all of this together now and then we'll get cooking our outcome so what we need to look for let's start off with our hot cocoa powder okay there's the clue is in the name okay this stuff is a hot one okay so exactly how much you add to this I'm not going to make a particularly hot Chloe because and because my boy is going to beat this so I'm going to use a teaspoon and I'm going to use one semi heaped teaspoon of hot cocoa powder okay into there I mean if you want this hotter you know feel free and put two in but you know experiment with it a little bit two of those teaspoons of that popcorn pilot is going to make a pretty warm coat a little bit hotter than CK probably so we take our stock cube now chicken stock cube crumble that up into the curry powder go bench bullion veg stock okay again one semi keep teaspoon of that into there then we've got our turmeric and we're going to pop again the same measure about achieved about a teaspoon into there of that and last but by no means least the same amount again crushed garlic okay so about one good teaspoon to that fact I think I only got 1/2 teaspoon in there maybe I can that's our garlic in so what we need to do with this and mix now is get some hot water into in turn into a paste announcer we've got some hot water are careful you don't want too much you just need to make this into a a thick paste so enough mix that in use your judgement I mean that's a pretty good
Tony paste there maybe I'm I'm smells pretty good to the rack so we have all our ingredients and pretty much ready to go now or we eat is it nice deep frying pan also the song let's get cooking so what we're going to want to get some heat in that pan now this is all going to happen quite quickly really it is generous and marbled butter in today okay so 25 30 grams of butter into that plan it's up to me want that butter melted with that butter melted now on the heat to medium heat get our onions garlic oil get all of that into there get those bad for you could get away with the only do it cook you love me already cook there's a few minutes like if I want to medium heat and then what we can do and got our chicken good as well okay so there are chicken at lead I said earlier little me to touch this again now and so what we're gonna do while they're going into cooking away there we're going to pop all our more chicken out into the onion next area and yes that's cooking away so the trick that I'm going to do to make this produce lots and lots of lovely juice
I'm going to get a place maybe I want to bake pop that on top put the screen lamented and eat them and just leave that there's a simmer for about three or four minutes and then after our chicken now hand has been cooking for about four or five minutes to get em here look at that that is lovely and it's gone from raw to almost fully cooked before the book and about five minutes okay so now is the time to add and our other ingredients what we're going to do with this it depends now we use a preferred depends how much sauce that you want quite a lot of servants awesome I'm sorry lads one good heat teaspoon there on one is a little bit teaspoon of cleaning flour for this now and I'm going to mix it in so I'll check in early in that mix and that's going to thicken that up quite nicely and built what we're going to do for the careful with some boiling water I'm just going to add water to this until you get to the consistency I want okay so take it water in match the time mix it up and you'll find the batter for a really nice thick white base okay there we go I mean we're going to have quite a bit in here so get this all cooking and there yeah so at this stage now and I'm going to add my taste makes it we made the burly okay so I'm going to get all that pastes take that into our sauce get that and then that is going to add all the flavor to this curling and what will happen is now as you mix this in you'll notice this will start to change color and it will sit into a lovely curly and a lovely coat look at that go mix it all in take your time don't splash it around there we are keep that heat on and that is the base of our Chloe pink lemonade and the shipping code so good cody's cook it up here on the stove quite nicely smells beautiful that's it lemon is dead and but what I'm going to do is I'm going to add one more ingredient tonight Chloe now this lady I'm going to add and I'm going to add at least one teaspoon of some sweet mango chutney that we've got you okay you can avoid the lips of mango out if you like and just add the paste and so I'm going to add that to that Chloe and then we're going to get it off stick it in this local get it up so one AB su why not like mango chutney is come out a lovely lovely sweet sort of flavor to that tell you as well oh yeah it's too good and teaspoons of mango chutney into that mixing in jobs are good what we could do now is we can get this off the heat I'm gonna pop this into our slow cooker and we'll eat it later beautiful [Music]
